In 1983, the journey of King of Gaharu began with a single vision: to bring the authentic scent of the rare agarwood forests to the modern world. Our founder's dedication to quality laid the foundation for what would become a hallmark of Emirati luxury.
These early years were marked by exploration and discovery, sourcing the most resonant materials from deep within the forests of Southeast Asia and India.
Inaugurated by Royalty
On August 8, 1983, our boutique was officially inaugurated by UAE dignitaries, an event captured on the front pages of the Khaleej Times. This historic launch marked the formal birth of the King of Gaharu brand.
The photograph captures our founder showing a selection of rare agarwood oils to the visiting guests, setting a standard of royal prestige that continues to define our collection to this day.
Bridging Generations
As our collection grew, so did our commitment to our patrons. We established our first major boutique in 1986, becoming a staple in the luxury retail landscape of the UAE. Each generation of our family has since contributed to refining our methods while preserving the sacred traditions of the craft.

Our pursuit of excellence has been honored by the Dubai government with 1st Place awards in the Best Oriental Perfume Contest for two consecutive years.
